This week, I had the honor of being inducted into the Virginia Poets Database, which is an online literary and educational resource being collected by Virginia Poet Laureate Emerita Luisa A. Igloria. My page includes a list of the poetry I've had published to this date, a selection of links to examples of my work, and a PDF of three poems that you can read for free. Enjoy!

According to the project's website:

"The Virginia Poets Database aims to feature information on Virginia-born poets, poets who are current residents, and poets who have spent significant time doing literary work in Virginia (for the archive to represent poets of the state as fairly as possible, poets must have resided in the state for more than the duration of their time in a university program). The goal is to feature historically recognized or established poets alongside emerging poets, and spotlight those from underrepresented communities. Further, it aims to gather information that shows the richness and diversity of poetry and poets in the state."

I look forward to using this database myself to find exciting up and coming VA poets. May it help foster a community of poets living and working in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As you'll see from my bio for this project, I've been a VA resident for years and have been an active member of the Arlington Writing Group since 2018. I love this state's natural beauty, which has brought such joy to my rescue dogs' lives, me and my husband, and the home we've made.
