Two Senryu in Prune Juice Journal: Issue 49

I'm proud to announce that two of my senryu are included in issue 49 of Prune Juice Journal. The first line of the first senryu is "sudden chill" (on pp. 31) and the second is "tracks on the porch" (on pp. 54). It was a special issue with the theme of Animal, Vegetable, Mineral and I am in love with the publication's cover art! That autumnal color scheme goes well with my website theme haha

As put by the editors, "Founded by Alexis Rotella in 2009, Prune Juice Journal is recognized as the longest-running international literary journal dedicated solely to exploring new directions in English Senryu and related forms, including Kyoka, Haibun, Haiga, Tan-Renga, and Rengay".

What is senryu?

Senryu is related to haiku. But where haiku usually have seasonal elements and nature themes or settings, senryu are typically offering social commentary on the human condition, behavior, or civilization, often with a comedic or satirical twist. I have really enjoyed exploring the haiku and senryu forms, especially in the past year. Perhaps I'll expand even more someday!
