Out of the 300 pieces Lit Shark Magazine published in 2024, my poem "Tokitae" was chosen to be among the top 50! I am honored that "Tokitae" was selected to be a part of Lit Shark Magazine's Best of 2024 Anthology. "Tokitae" was first published in Lit Shark Magazine Issue 8: The SHARK WEEK Edition, and the issue was dedicated to Tokitae and her wild kin.

To meet the anthology's theme of 'something old, something new, something to sink your teeth into', the Editor-in-Chief gave me the opportunity to include a new piece of mine to be published alongside "Tokitae". I chose "I killed today", which deals with similar issues of animal welfare and the harm wildlife come to when humans behave poorly. How should we treat our wild neighbors, and how can we coexist peacefully? I think about this a lot.

I'm really happy with how the issue came out and I cannot wait to receive my physical copies! You can order yours in hardcover or paperback from Amazon: see here.
